Mayes and Sons came out to inspect my Water Heater. John diagnosed the problem quickly, and assured us he would have it replaced today. He was quick and professional. I believe it was just about 2 hours for from when he arrived to when he left and everything was wrapped up. Would certainly recommend.
I did not have a good experience with this company. Put in a ticket with my home warranty company and they assigned Mayes to come out to my home due to a clog. The first technician showed up on Friday (2/6/26) and found that there was not an adequate clean out in my house and advised I reach out to city sewer to find the one outside. However, this is not my issue with the company or this technician. While the technician was in my home he seemed to take offence that there was a hose going from my sink next to my washer into the floor/sewer in my basement. He proceeded to rip this hose out of the floor and just left the hole open to the sewer. Unfortunately, I was in meetings the rest of the day and did not realize he did this until well after he left and the company was closed for the day. The city sewer showed up that evening and in the process of them attempting to find/clear the clog issue I had sewage back up through this hole that the first technician left causing damage to rugs, carpeting, and untold number of towels that all had to be thrown out. I called Mayes the next morning (Saturday 2/7/26) and requested they send someone out that day to at least fix this hole and potentially fix the clog I still had. I spoke to three people that day and all seemed pretty surprised that the first tech left my home the way he did and that he would just rip this hose out of the ground. The company only gets 2 stars purely for the second tech. He spent 40 minutes trying to snake the clog before realizing that it needed to be flushed. This was an extra charge which I unfortunately had no choice but to pay. I am incredibly frustrated that at no point did anyone from Mayes apologize or offer any sort of compensation for the damage their tech caused while he was in my home. The first tech needs to be retrained before he is allowed into someone else's home.
This was a great experience. The technician was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He was also very considerate and respectful of our home. The work was performed as promised with high-quality workmanship. I’d highly recommend this company for your plumbing needs.
Had an emergency with my hot water tank, and was referred to Mayes & Son's. They came Friday for my tank and came right back to fix my faucet, an even bigger issue, today. The price was wonderful and Matt, my service pro, was really kind. I will always choose this company for my plumbing needs. ????
This is the second service call we have had through our warranty company that Mayes has done. We are a bit rural, so service providers usually have to travel, but we were lucky enought to have Mayes asigned to us twice. First was a toilet repair and then a faucet issue. We have been VERY happy with the service. Tony was our technician both times and he is so friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. He remembered us from the previous service call, which was very nice. We would definitely call them again for any future repairs, and will be requesting Tony! Thank you!
