I am submitting this as a formal complaint regarding a recent service call and subsequent billing.I contacted Best Plumbing to come out and replace a faucet cartridge. I already knew what the issue was. A technician came to the property and spent approximately 45 minutes attempting to locate the replacement cartridge on his phone. He was unable to find it and stated that his office would contact me within a couple of days.I later discovered that the faucet is a lifetime warranty product, and the cartridge replacement is provided at no cost by the manufacturer. Chown Hardware was able to order the correct cartridge for me within one week without issue. Before receiving any meaningful follow-up regarding the service visit, I was sent an invoice for nearly $500. After the invoice was issued, I received a call stating the cartridge would cost $140. I explained that the part is covered under a lifetime warranty and is provided free of charge.Despite no repair being completed and no part being installed, I was billed almost $500 for what amounted to a 45-minute diagnostic visit. At no point prior to the appointment was I informed of the service call rate, nor did I sign any agreement authorizing a charge of that amount. Had I been told the visit would cost nearly $500, I would not have scheduled the appointment. When I attempted to dispute the invoice, communication occurred through a collections representative, whose tone was unprofessional and included threats of financial consequences if the invoice was not paid. This experience reflects a serious lack of transparency and professionalism. I am sharing this so others are aware of these business practicesThere are consumer protections in Washington that apply here too. The Attorney General’s Office enforces the Washington State Consumer Protection Act, which prohibits unfair or deceptive business practices, including failing to disclose costs and then charging consumers without their informed consent.RCW 19.86.020 – Unfair or deceptive acts or practices unlawful“Unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce are hereby declared unlawful.”It's so amazing. All they had to do was call me back to discuss the bill not just send a random bill out of nowhere. I never signed a contract. I never agreed to that but had they called me and discussed it. Then we probably would have came to terms instead of trying to strong arm you Washington state has great laws the AGO DOL FTC and BBB.
Best Plumbing replaced my main water line, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The work was done with care, professionalism, and attention to detail, and it’s clear the team takes great pride in their workmanship.Mitch, the project manager, and his crew were excellent, communicative, respectful, and highly skilled. I have no complaints, only appreciation for a job exceptionally well done.I will absolutely use Best Plumbing again and highly recommend them to friends, neighbors, coworkers, and our homeowners association.
We recently hired Best Plumbing to diagnose and repair a serious issue with our main sewer line, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. It began with a gurgling first-floor toilet. Best Plumbing responded within 24 hours, removed the toilet, protected our wood floors, and both snaked and scoped the line. They reinstalled the toilet, cleaned the area thoroughly, and left the powder room spotless. The inspection revealed that our main sewer line was clogged with roots. The repair required hand-digging an 8-foot-deep hole. The crew treated our property with real care—laying down tarps, preserving the sod, and working diligently and respectfully throughout the process. They installed a liner to fix the issue, then returned to refill the hole by hand, replace the sod, and rake the yard. Aside from a few faint seams where the sod was lifted, you would never know they were here.Mitch, the project manager, communicated clearly and consistently over the two-week project. The pricing was reasonable, the workmanship was excellent, and the professionalism was evident at every step.High trust, high competence, great communication. I strongly recommend Best Plumbing to anyone needing sewer or plumbing work.
Plumber was nice, professional and I got same day service. So the work was very good as expected. But the cost was crazy - holy cow, over $850 for an hour and a half. They “knocked it down” to $630 but still that is an unbelievable hourly rate. I hope they pay their workers really really well.
We have been working with Best Plumbing, and specifically, Collin Kehr, for over fourteen years. Collin has provided incredible service since day one. He is thoughtful, fair, kind, and goes to extremes to explain everything in Layman's terms. Collin also never fails to show up, especially when there is an emergency. We have loved working with Best Plumbing all of these years and will continue to do so!
